We were at IPT for the Cirrus proficiency program. Degol had everything organized and took well care of us. I felt that they were handling over 30 planes with great ease and professionalism. Also, the controllers were nice and accomodating - throughout the course. At the last day, tower had to issue almost 20 IFR clearances within about 20 minutes - in NY Center airspace - and this while the single controller handled another 10 or 15 VFR departures - and stayed friendly and courteous all the time. Only good things to say about the airport and the services they provide.

N13LV just landed kIPT and Andy was right there, at the plane, ready to accommodate me to wherever I wanted to go. Nice airport. Andy's the man!!!

I fly regularly to IPT. OK, the weekend controller might have been a little quick with some folks, but I've heard him handle an emergency landing the way I'd want it, and has had to deal with a lot of pilots making silly mistakes. Some tips at IPT - watch the morning fog. It's often the last place in PA to clear. The winds can be tricky - if so, ease away from the mountain ridge (especially on departure). Watch the intersection of rwy 30 and 27. I've seen pilots use the wrong one on departure since they originate at almost a common point - don't rush! Note that taxi ways have changed and the rwy lengthened, so have a current airport diagram. There is a restaurant over by the tower with separate transient parking. The FBO is at the far end (friendly and helpful - fuel, ground transportation, maintenance). If there's room, park near the FBO, otherwise in the huge tie-down area.

Flew to KIPT 6/14/10. 2 linemen from Degol Jet Center were very helpful. I initially declined their offer of fuel. As my wife and I were unloading the plane, I noticed a car on the ramp moving toward the us. They were bringing our rental car out to the plane for us. As they brought the car to the plane I told them they and the office staff had all been so nice that I wanted to buy gas after all. On the day we left, they offered to return the retal car for us. We felt very well taken care of. Only criticism involved the ground controller who read our clearance at machine gun pace when we were the only aircraft of any kind that he was dealing with. There was no reason for him to have read it so fast. Basically, great experience at Degol; not such great things to say about the ground controller.
