Visited 4/20/11 and found same problem I've encountered before in picking up my IFR clearance before departure. Info in AOPA's site and in the Airport/Facilities Directory not correct. While on ground, tried listed RCO and MIA Radio freqs--no response. Then called St. Pete Flight Services via cell phone; they called ATC to try and pick up clearance. ATC advised I should call Palm Beach Departure, while on the ground, on 127.35. Tried this, and it worked, although there was a delay and PBI advised I should take off VFR and call them immediately after take-off. No problems with that procedure.

KLNA is located 5nm south of the Palm Beach International airport (KPBI), so it is practically inside the Class C airspace. Runway 3 take-offs are virtually impossible to do without ending up in the Class C airspace. As far as I am concerned, runway 3 TO's should be avoided, especially since the airport has E-W runways that alleviate the Class-C incursion. However, there is a sign on the field that says that 3-21 are the preferred runways!
