I have been coming to San Diego at least once a year for the past 20 plus years. Finally, I found the time to do some flight-seeing. The folks at Learn To Fly San Diego were quite accommodating. The rental rates are very reasonable. John's a great instructor and showed me the ropes about navigating the complex air space around KSAN. Thanks, John, for the great experience. It's been a very enjoyable experience. I will be back again. Highly recommended.

Christie at Gibbs Flying Service is truly dynamite. She does everything and ina first class way. Drove rental car out to greet us, took care of all the paperwork for arrival and departure and even drove my wife to a hanger to use the restroom when the one at Gibbs was not working. She is truly amazing and Gibbs is a great facility. Beautiful airport as well. A great outlet for San Diego. Dan Connor

Home Airport and this may seem a bit biased but I felt I needed to give KMYf a Comment after all the time of their excellent service. The Personnel in the tower are generally very patient and accommodating and haven't ever had any conflict with them, always a pleasure. Same goes for the tower. Plenty of FBOs on site to get fuel and Casa Machado adjacent to the transient lot offers a great place to grab a bite. If anyone is wondering about whether they would enjoy a stop off in KMYF stop hesitating it's worth it.

Flew to KMYF a couple weeks ago. VFR from Whiteman, WHP, to Riverside to Montgomery Field. SoCal cleared us quickly through the Class Bravo straight into MYF. Stopped into Gibbs Flying Service and used their courtesy van to drop a friend off at Mission Bay. Gibbs was great. They pulled the van up so we could unload and were very friendly. The plane was refueled when I got back just before 8pm. Dropped off the van, took care of fuel bill, and took off back to Whiteman. Great flight and Gibbs made the Mission Bay dropoff super easy. Looking forward to going back.

Today was my 1st visit to MYF--- went for a $200 hamburger ride from UDD. Flew VFR -- Flight Following. Using ATC flight following made the flight through all the controlled air space quite easy. MYF Control Tower and Ground Control personnel very accomodating. Did not realize that 94th Aero Squadron restaurant was a taxi ride away -- ate at the Mexican Restaurant instead -- excellent food. Will visit again!

Like many pilots, KMYF is my home base. It really is a great airport. The Tower staff are excellent, professional and friendly too. It can get busy there, particularly in the middle of the day and on weekends, with plenty of student pilots and charter traffic, but even then, it always is well handled by the Tower team. If you keep your eyes open, an ear tuned to Tower/SoCal and mind the Bravo on either side and above the airport, you should have no problems.
