I diverted to OPF at 10 pm when the weather at my destination went down. I usually use the self fueling operation (South Florida), but I figured I'd need help with a hotel room for the night. I tried Miami Executive. Very nice staff found a room. Bad surprise the next day: $9.00 avgas. I was in a tight spot, and life is full of tradeoffs, but yikes!

J.P. Aviation/ South Florida Aviation/ Turnberry don't exist anymore. They are now Fontainbleau Aviation. Fontainbleau is located at the Southeast corner of the airport near the departure end of 30, near where J.P. was. Look for the blue awning. 305-953-5823. I found them by accident taxiing around looking for somewhere to park. First class facility and very friendly and helpfull staff. They charged me $25 to park for the day. I highly reccomend them over Miami Executive. Miami Exec, is only good for pilots with twin turbines and a corporate credit card.

J. P Aviation has sold their business to Turn Berry. Their phone number is 305-685-4646. I have not been there yet, so I cannot comment on them but the former owner of J.P Aviation told me that he believes that they have the lowest fuel prices.

All said about "South Florida" is true except the name: It is J P Aviation, and that is what you must ask ground control for directions to. Helpful, courteous, called for our rental car and it was there promptly. "Ramp Fee" seems high to me but was prepared for such cost at a resort area. Self serve fuel is a real bargain for any location and they were happy to help me use it. No tiedowns, only very sturdy chocks. Enterprise is the only rental company. Service was excellent but price twice what they charge elsewhere including Miami International.

Service at Miami Executive above average. Excellent line service. I would recommend using this facility and avoiding MIA.
