Traveled to OWB from NE Ohio last week to attend a football game. I want to thank Steve Reising and Modern Jet Center for the superb hospitality provided to us. Courtesy car provided and the best fuel price. What a great organization and outstanding people!

Mom always said, If you can't say something nice....... Not this time. Mid America is the worst. It is obvious they are hanging by a thread - charging for everything they can. No courtesy car (they have a car, but in my mind it woud be at a reasonable price). Fuel is over a dollar higher that my home airport, and they are outrageous to park. Cannot get to your plane after hours without paying a huge fee. No help with a hotel or cab - basically on our own. I was forced their by weather, but believe me - never again.

I went to OWB today just for a fun flight from LUK. Mid America Jet is the worst FBO I have ever dealt with. They charge a $1.00 more per gallon for Avgas than the other FBO on the field. The line help is very indifferent, and they also charge $20 for parking, even with a fuel purchase. I was just in town for a 2 hour lunch and bought $180 worth of fuel and they still charged the $20 parking fee. I will never use Mid America Jet and I encourage all AOPA members to avoid any business that gouges general aviation.

I dropped off a puppy to an Owensboro dog rescue, as part of a Pilots 'n' Paws volunteer charity flight. They charge small planes $20 to park there regardless of how long you stay or whether you buy fuel. (Larger planes are more, $75 I think for a King Air). The fuel is about a dollar a gallon more than the other FBO on the field, and the amenities are just standard, nothing fancy. Others have had difficulties with crew car fees and after hours issues. If you have a choice in OWB, pick the other FBO (Modern Jet Center).

We made a fuel stop at OWB with another aircraft on Easter Sunday. The other aircraft had a transponder failure enroute to OWB. A local A&P just happened to be at the airport and opened up his shop and went to work on the transponder and quickly determined it was nothing more then a bad connection. He cleaned the connection and we were again on our way. A sincere "Thank You" to the unnamed A&P from Modern Jet Center who got us on our way with only a short delay!
