Back to PNN for my end of July annual trip canoeing and camping on Baskahegan Lake,. Landed 15/33 in a stiff crosswind (as usual) but did not have great difficulty. Approach is easy coming from the South. Runway 6/24 is still closed, another year older, and is unusable unless you want to break your landing gear and airplane. Airport as sleepy as ever. Tied down in the newly paved tie down area by the old train station building. Technicians were there installing an AWOS. Once again the fuel tank looks old and rusty and can't tell if it gets any use so I passed on the fuel. Great out of the way airport and a fun place to land for a camping trip. There is cell service at the airport.

Went to PNN end of July 2010 for a camping trip. Landed 15/33. 6/24 reported as closed. 15/33 in excellent shape. Sleepy airport with new ramp area and 24hr credit card 100LL - does not appear to get much use but worked fine and fuel did not appear to have contamination problem despite what appears to be low turnover. No other services but an old train station as the only building with restrooms. Had a friend pick me up so no idea on getting to town. Local airport elder said you can use 6/24 but stay away from the ends. I walked the 24 end and you would not want to land before the building on the right - after that it looks rough but acceptable. Beats landing on 15 with gusts to 25 (like I faced). Anyway, great out of the way place to visit, and there is fuel but I would always check with the town first on current conditions.
