Even with my Cessna 172 easy in and out to drop off passengers so they can fly out on commercial flights. Expect to land and depart on runway 34L. The FBO is at the south east corner of 34L. Nice people at FBO . Excellent facilities including pilots lounge with a few sleeping areas. As long as the weather is good there will be no more 300 mile round trip drives from Redding to Sac for me!!!

STAY AWAY!!! I flew in here in the evening to pick up an airline pilot/Federal Air Marshall friend, and the FBO was closed. (10PM) No one answered the phone, and when I contacted airport operations they would NOT open the gate to let this person through per instructions from Sacramento Jet Center. Operations then got a hold of someone associated with the FBO who said there was a $75 charge just to open the gate!!!! These people have NO concept of customer service. Go to McClellen - it's closer to town and a lot friendlier. You'll notice that comments on AIRNAV have been suppressed by SAC AIR CENTER. This tells a lot about the kind of service that is provided.

Just flew up to Sacramento in my Bonanza for the day for an early meeting. SMF wasn't my first choice because I thought it would be a pain to get in and out. But we needed a rental car very early this morning, and neither Hertz nor Enterprise at any OTHER airports in the area operated very early. Called Sac Jet Center the night before and they made it SO easy - they got a car delivered the night before and when we showed up this morning they handed us the keys and took a credit card imprint and we were out the door in under 2 minutes. Yes there's a $20 handling fee but they waived it because we bought 10 gallons of gas - and the county charged $6. All a very inexpensive price to pay for the awesome service we received. On the way out this evening, the guys came out and unloaded our rental car and packed our stuff in the plane, gave us some fresh baked cookies and cold water bottles for the return trip. And getting in and out of SMF with VFR flight following couldn't have been easier. I think we taxied for about 60 seconds in and out. Will definitely go back and use Sac Jet Center again. They make even the little guy feel like a Citation driver.
