I flew into TVL on 10/28, and I thought the crew at Mountain West was just great! They had my rental car waiting, and offered to bring it onto the ramp for me to load. The next day they had filled my plane with as much fuel as I had requested, no problems. I have nothing but good things to say about the Mountain West crew.

I visited KTVL in February of 2011. Before I went, I contacted them to make sure they had hangar space for the last night and they no problem. I didn't want the electronics cold soaked on startup. When I got there, they told me the hangars were not heated and putting it in the hangar wouldn't do any good since the plane would be covered by snow by the third day and it wouldn't melt in the hangar. I wound up renting the hangar for four nights at $150.00 at night (if I remember right). I told them I would be leaving (early Sunday morning), I filled out a form saying when I would leave, I called the day before to remind them. When I checked on Sunday morning (4th time), they said, "the doors were snowed in and it would be a few hours before they could get to them". There was no snow the last day, they just didn't get to it. To their credit, they got the doors open in a couple of hours. On balance, stay away from Mountain West at KTVL in the winter. Nice guys, just no idea how to run an FBO. I had checked Airnav and they only had nice comments but I found out when I posted this same message there that Airnav deletes messages their advertisers don't like. I posted the comment but a day later the text was was blank and replaced with "being investigated". They have my contact info but never bothered checking with me, a few days later the comment was deleted. I would not trust any of the Airnav recommendations. Steve Kinnaird
