I landed at Bermuda Dunes and stayed there during the 2012 AOPA convention. The runway and ramps have been repaved. Wish my landing was as smooth as the new surface. I've been at many airports where if you are not in a jet you don't matter, not so here. The staff were very friendly and helpful, they made me feel like I was important even though I wasn't in a jet. The airport is basically in the middle between PSP and TRM makes Bermuda Dunes much more convenient. Pilot lounge is comfortable and has nice amenities. If I lived in the area this would definitely be my home base.

I flew into the airport today. The airport was great no traffic in the pattern or on the ground, probably because of the heat. The staff at the terminal were very helpful. I was planning on eating at the restaurant but discovered it opened at 3pm (Sunday) and the terminal staff offerred an airport vehicle to get food. The airport vehicles are first come first serve, but I decided to get a snack and leave. The landing fee is $5 and $10 for overnight, but the landing fee will be waived if you eat at the restaurant or buy gas. Great place to fly too and the airport is awesome. There is noise abatement for departure on RWY 28: follow the 10 FWY westbound until 1100 MSL and into the desert area before making turns. Also, there is one for RWY 10 but I did not get it. The departure procedures are posted in the terminal.
