I was going to attend a safety seminar at American Flyers, but upon checking that I would be charged 22 dollars for the pleasure of landing I decided not to attend. I was coming with 5 other pilots and three aircraft. We decided to go someone else and spend the 66 dollars on a nice lunch. This airport most definitely does not support general aviation and have no intention of landing here.

I flew my M20R into MMU and parked two nights on the ramp. I bought 25 gallons of 100LL at $6.40. With the fuel purchase, the $28.00 handling charge was waived. The parking charge was $12.00 per night. We took a cab ($20) to the train station in Morristown and took the train to Penn Station in Manhatten. Signature was busy on the ramp, otherwise they would have driven us to the train station. On departure, we waited 10 minutes for IFR clearence before giving up and departing VFR.

AIRPORT ROBBERY : We got an invoice for an $11 landing fee, plus there was a $10 parking fee and a $22 handling fee. Forget about the $100 hamburger, it will cost you a lot more then that to be here for a few hours. Go someplace else nearby that is a lot cheaper.

Adding insult to injury....just received an invoice in the mail for $11 landing fee, in addition to the other fees already discussed. This is worse than the user fees in Europe!

$28 handling fee, guaranteed SID (Morristown-5 for us), 15 minute wait for release. I'll land elsewhere next time

If departing IFR, you might as well file a SID, because you're going to get one anyway. Also, depending upon which runways the larger airports are using, you may wait 30 minutes or more. I wound up departing VFR and just picking up flight flowing.
