11/11/11 FUEL $5.32 Great little airport to fly into. Easy and the runway is in good condition. If you want to get into town call Sassy 520-366-2149 and you will be connected to Sandra or Frank. It takes about half hour for someone to get to you depending on where they are at the time of your call. I would recommend using Sassy for your stay because renting a car is a hassle. You will have to pay $50 extra for a pick up and drop off with the closest car rental in Sierra Vista. Not worth the trouble because Sassy can take you and pick you up and at a modest cost. As far as the town is concerned, nice place to browse for little goodies. Lots of art and one of a kind works. Don't miss the Chocolate Shop, Spirited Chocolate. If you like chocolate you will come away for here with a new appreciation of what a chocolatier can do. Cafe Roka is the most highly recommended restaurant but we didn't seem to think the food was all that good and the service was not good at all. We would try it again, to give them the benefit of the doubt but for us sloppy, slow and inattentive service really was the killer. It seems as if the waiters Cater to the locals, which is understandable but tourist give a place the reputation. Rating service a 2 and food a 3 out of 5. We stayed at The Gardens at Mile High Ranch. Tara was great in getting us into a nice quaint room with all the comforts of home. Nice grounds and pleasant surroundings. It's about 1.4 miles to town but along a very interesting road with shops and places to get coffee and breakfast. The mine tour is well worth the price. Just getting dressed in the miner clothing, hard hat, light and all. Great fun. One tour we wanted to take was the walking tour with Michael London but my wife is having a hip replacement next month and that would have been a little much. We will be back for his tour after the operation. Over all a nice place to visit.
