On 09-06-2012 I entered Alaska on a solo trip from Mankato, MN in a AMP Scout. Upon landing I was meet by US Customs and had the pleasure of a cheerful prompt Custom check followed by a friendly welcome from Karen at the FSS. Karen greeted me with a hot fresh homemade muffin with hand picked wild cranberries and a cup of hot coffee. What a great place with FANTASTIC people. Made my entire trip. Thanks Doug.

Was just here on 07/08/11. Very nice runway and customs was fine. No fuel but the flight service station is a great place to get some info and use restroom. They can give a card that has all area FSS frequencies and phone numbers.

Visited on June 16, 2010. Runway is now paved, but fuel (and pie) no longer available. The lodge and fuel dealer were going to close on July 1st. Fuel available nearby at Tok. I agree with the Customs comment - very friendly and quick, just call them 2 hours before you plan to arrive, as it takes them an hour to drive from the border station. FSS was very helpful as well.
