Contrary to prior experience, the Masonry Company does, indeed, acknowledge owning and operating the airport, and the lady who responded to my call about permission to land was very friendly and pleasant. The runway is in good condition, with some grass growing in the asphalt, and the ramp areas are in excellent condition. No tie downs were available, however, though there were some chocks stacked next to one of the hangars. After giving us permission to use the airport and agreeing to landing and departure times, the GATE was LOCKED on the access road! We had to walk over a mile and a half to meet our ride, .. At neither our agreed upon arrival time nor our agreed upon departure time was the airport accessible by car.

Absolutely awful service. The airport information for this airport is wrong. The phone numbers are not current. I called the listed number for assistance before flying into Potomac Airpark. A lady answered. I asked a few questions concerning the airport and she got very unfriendly, rude & indignant and stated she no longer owned the property, and hadn't for years, then hung up. I called a number from directory assistance and got a masonry company. I was transferred to an answering machine for the airport. I tried this routine several times and still no help or return call. This is a privately owned public use airport. I assume they receive federal funding assistance for the airport, and if so, its money well wasted. The customer service is terrible and I wouldn't recommend ever using this field unless your only option is to crash in the river, and even then I'd have to give it some thought.
