Flew into this lovely short field to stay for a couple of days. No one at the FOB. Called Tides Inn to come out and pick me up ($25 roundtrip charge). Had a great stay at the lodge and flew out with no hassles. Also a pleasant experience but am not sure if the main FOB is currently staffed? Still a great place to stop for a meal at the Pilot House.

Flew in on 10/4/11. Friendly reception and we ate at the Pilot House in mid afternoon. We were the only customers (3) and the service and food were excellent. A very pleasant experience and a beautiful flying day.

Short-field procedures a must!!! Experimental/ultra-lights in use here. Gas priced to be cheapest in VA, if not worried about weight/departure. Friendly FBO/fuel located midfield west side of rwy behind rows of aircraft, sign indicates path with "to terminal" sign. Ramp/grass near trailer (FBO/terminal) has ample space to turn around. Hotel adjacent to arpt. Fantastic destination and people, only thing lacking is longer rwy.
