Flew in general aviation and picked up a Hertz rental car from the counter at Sheltair. I asked for the smallest & cheapest rental car and have just opened my CC bill to discover a charge of $ 207.51 for a one day rental. Be VERY CAUTIOUS of Hertz at this location. Corporate inquiry has rental agreement notation that I asked for and authorized a $ 99.00 upgrade. This is absolute BUNK. Hertz reversed charges, but will be moved to my "not to be trusted" list. Otherwise, the FBO was great

Drove down to drop off a friend at the airline terminal and visited with Sheltair. Very nice facility. Asked about just flying in next time to pick up my friend and was told there is a $35.00 charge unless I made a purchase, but crew cars are available to drop off or pick up passenger at airline terminal. Fee is waved and .50 discount on gas with top-off, but I didn't check to see what a top-off consisted of.

Flew in to ECP on 7/19/2011 and departed the 7/24/2011. Gps doesn't pick it up yet.Flight following from Tyndall vectored us in at 40 miles out.Sheltair has a great staff and a very nice new fbo.We were charged 12.00 per night for tie down. they gave us a discount of .50cents per gallon for topping off fuel.The tower and ground control,arriving and departing were really great to deal with.

I found Sheltair to be very friendly and helpfull. Brought my rental car out to the plane and helped unload. The FBO is still under construction. $12.00 overnight tiedown. PFN VORTAC has been decomissioned.

The new airport is not very GA friendly...The old facility was certainly far more oriented toward the GA community and its business.

Per telecons today with Sheltair and the airport admin office, there is no "landing fee," at least not now. Tiedown for a single-engine pistons is $12/night with none waived for buying gas, but there is 50 cents off per gallon for all "top-offs." I also found that car rentals are cheaper if picked up at the terminal rather than at Sheltair, but the FBO will provide a shuttle at no cost.

$48.99 for a passenger pick up at Sheltair? The aircraft never shut down and as I was walking out to the waiting aircraft the CSR called the lineman to tell me that there was a landing fee. I figured I'd go back and they'd tell me there was a $20 fee or something like that, but almost $50 just to walk through and out to an aircraft that never shut down? I asked the girl to have the manager give me a call but I guess he's a little too busy to care about it.

Make sure your GPS is up to date or at least input the Lat/Long for navigation to this airport. The FBO, Sheltair, was friendly and efficient. Phone ahead to confirm a tie-down space; it's limited.

FBO (Sheltair) under construction as of 10/31/10; however, temporary FBO is a very nice triple-wide and the service is excellent. Very nice and professional ground crew and FBO personnel. Will be a very nice FBO when completed.
