AMERICANS SURGING

After an impressive performance in Russia, AOPA Ambassador Michael Goulian now sits atop the leaderboard of the Red Bull Air Race World Championship. The race series now comes the U.S. for two decisive races – the first at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on October 6-7 and the second at Texas Motor Speedway on Nov 17-18.

The Red Bull Air Race features the world's best racing pilots in a pure motorsport competition that combines speed, precision and skill. Using the fastest, most agile, lightweight raceplanes, pilots hit speeds of 230 mph while enduring forces of up to 12G as they navigate a low level slalom track marked by 82-feet-high, air-filled pylons.

PILOT TOWN HALL WITH MARK BAKER

Join AOPA president Mark Baker for a Pilot Town Hall and pancake breakfast at First Wing Jet Center at Indianapolis Executive Airport (KTYQ). What better way to kick off a day racing than a pancake breakfast with the coolest people around, fellow AOPA Pilots!

AOPA has made arrangements with our friends at First Wing Jet Center at Indianapolis Executive Airport (KTYQ) to welcome members to Indianapolis. Fly in to Indianapolis Sunday morning for a Pilot Town Hall with Mark Baker, a pancake breakfast, then ride the shuttle ($30 fee for the weekend) to the Speedway for a day of qualifying rounds. Contact First Wing Jet Center or call 317-769-4487.

BRICKYARD BASH CANCELLED

AOPA was informed that due to last-minute event scheduling changes, we will not be able to host our annual Brick Yard Bash at Indianapolis this year. Those who have purchased tickets to the Brickyard Bash will receive a full refund. AOPA will still be onsite in the Engagement Zone with t-shirt and hat giveaways for pilots and of course plenty of opportunities to meet up and talk flying. In addition, be sure to join AOPA president Mark Baker for a Pilot Town Hall and pancake breakfast at First Wing Jet Center at Indianapolis Executive Airport (KTYQ). Details above.
