On-Site Media Information

AOPA Expo 2008 provides a unique opportunity for journalists to gather valuable information on cutting-edge technology, attend daily top-notch General Sessions and press conferences, take in more than 60-plus hours of seminars, check out the expansive Exhibit Hall with more than 500 exhibitors, see myriad product demonstrations, and view 60-plus new-model aircraft in the static display.

Included in this section is information on everything from obtaining AOPA Expo media credentials to News Room operating hours and the power-packed daily General Sessions to the news conference schedule and more.

Media credentials

Journalists, photographers, and television, radio, and video crews attending AOPA Expo for the express purpose of reporting on the event and freelance journalists on assignment for a nationally recognized publication may request media credentials.

Advance registration

Advance media registration for AOPA Expo 2008 is now closed.

Pre-registrants must pick up their media credentials at the Media window in the Advance Registration area of the San Jose McEnery Convention Center. Credentials are not available in the News Room.

On-site registration

Members of the media who have not pre-registered may register on-site at the Media window in the Advance Registration area of the San Jose McEnery Convention Center, and will be required to provide either San Jose/San Francisco/Oakland-market local news credentials or a business card and one of the following: current masthead that includes their name, bylined article, or original letter of assignment on news outlet letterhead. No exceptions will be made.

Account representatives, sales and marketing executives, and book authors do not meet the criteria for media registration.

Media credentials allow access to AOPA Expo seminars, daily General Sessions, news conferences, the exhibit hall, product demonstrations, and the aircraft display, located at Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport.
