About AOPA Foundation

The central philanthropic arm of AOPA will be its newly formed charitable foundation. With a far broader charter than ASF, The AOPA Foundation can address many of the challenges our major supporters and members have helped identify as critical.  In addition to annual donations and multi-year pledges, the new Foundation will enable AOPA to offer pilots a robust planned/deferred giving option.  The AOPA Foundation will be the operating vehicle of the campaign, managing planning, prospect identification, gift officer hiring, training and performance, volunteer organization and deployment, campaign publications and accounting.  The new foundation will provide a new level of professionalism and coordination for fund-raising on behalf of general aviation and AOPA.

The AOPA Foundation, Inc., a tax-exempt charitable, educational, and scientific organization, educates the public on the value of general aviation.  The AOPA Foundation works to improve aviation safety, preserve and improve community airports, and encourages learning to fly for career and personal benefit – all in the interest of ensuring the future of general aviation in America.
