What are the goals and mission of the AOPA Foundation?
The AOPA Foundation’s  mission is: “The AOPA Foundation, the charitable arm of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, works to improve aviation safety, preserve community airports, and encourage learning to fly for career and personal benefit – all in the interest of ensuring the future of general aviation in the United States.”

The AOPA Foundation provides funding for four initiatives that work to keep general aviation strong and preserve our freedom to fly. They are:

  1. Aviation education and safety
  2. Airport preservation
  3. Increasing the pilot population
  4. Enhancing the image of general aviation. It is through this initiative that we are spotlighting the good  work being done through GA.

Grant requests are limited to no more $10,000.

Can the application be for an annual event?
No, the Giving Back program is not intended to provide sponsorship or event support.

When will the AOPA Foundation announce the winners?
