Flying into new-to-you airports

You’re getting ready to fly to a new-to-you airport that’s sure to be challenging.
Goodspeed Airport (42B) is a relatively short (2,120 feet) and narrow (50 feet) strip in a steep-sided river valley—and one approach requires flying low over a bridge on final. You’ve looked at the VFR sectional, read the chart supplement, and watched a couple of YouTube clips that other pilots made of their arrivals at this aviation gem in rural Connecticut. You’ve even virtually “flown” the area on your desktop computer via Google Earth. Now, on a gorgeous summer morning, it’s time to put that preparation to the test in a Cessna 182 Skylane.
