AOPA Mission Statement

The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), a not-for-profit individual membership association, effectively serves the interests and needs of its members as aircraft owners and pilots, and establishes, maintains, and articulates positions of leadership to promote the economy, safety, and popularity of flight in aircraft.

Statement of Purpose

AOPA represents the interests of all general aviation owners and pilots by:

• Providing information and education about general aviation to its members and to the public;
• Acting as principal advocate for constituent interests related to general aviation at all levels of government;
• Communicating the value and benefit of general aviation to the public;
• Assuming the lead in addressing general aviation industry issues in cooperation with other industry leaders.
