Good Reasons for Using Corporate Jets
By Jack Pelton
The National Business Aviation Association, an industry group for corporate jet operators, offers several reasons why using business aircraft is truly smarter and more expedient than using commercial aircraft. Business travel offers several obvious advantages including greater geographical access; ability to fly to numerous locations in a single day; delivering products and services more efficiently; and access to roughly 5,000 U.S. airports. In some major cities and state capitals without commercial airline service, a business trip to Washington, D.C., could involve long hours of travel, several layovers, and a higher risk of missed flights and lost luggage. A trip in a Citation CJ3, however, would take only a few hours and would allow colleagues to work and socialize together in the meantime. Small cities such as Wichita rely on general aviation to serve local commerce and for the delivery of goods to farmers, doctors, and other businesses.January 8, 2009
