Pilots Teach Kids About Aviation
By
Kids in Burgaw, N.C., were recently treated to flying demonstrations by the local branch of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA). "It's a dream come true. It's the first time I've been flying," said 15-year-old Zach Parks, who in 2007 was diagnosed with Leukemia. Zach said that once his treatment was over, he would get his pilots license and fly his own plane. "Helping any young person see the world from a different perspective you get above the ground and look at the planet you live on," said Karen Ellison, an EAA Young Eagles coordinator. "You have a totally different appreciation for where we live and the quality of life we have."
