World's Oldest Hang Glider Pilot
By Kiksmedia.com
World War II veteran Neal Goss holds the Guinness World Record for the oldest living hang glider pilot at the age of 89, and he will be giving demonstrations at this year’s Roar n’ Soar at Fantasy of Flight. He started gliding at the age of 54, and says he continues to do it "because of my love for sport and my enjoyment of the people involved in the sport." Goss flew 50 missions in B-17s over Europe as an Army Air Corps bombardier and navigator, and has owned and flown several small planes over the years. "Neal Goss’ extraordinary service in World War II and continued enthusiasm for hang gliding are amazing examples of what can be achieved through determination and devotion to the art of flight," said Fantasy of Flight owner and founder Kermit Weeks.November 12, 2009
