ATP partners with Endeavor for airline-oriented training

ATP Flight School students and instructors in the Student to Endeavor Pilot Program (STEP) can land a career with Delta Air Lines after gaining experience with Delta’s wholly owned Endeavor Air regional air carrier.

ATP Marketing Director Michael Arnold pointed out that pilot candidates receive guidance from Endeavor recruiters, attend professional development presentations, and can gain an interview for a first officer position a full year before meeting airline transport pilot hiring minimums. Additional details include eligibility to receive a preferential scoring credit during a panel interview, and elimination of a knowledge test.

Arnold said the plan allows ATP students to “chart their most advantageous path” to a major airline of their choice. He said the flight school has 40 locations—which includes the San Antonio, Texas, and Colorado Springs, Colorado, training centers opening the first week of March, and 398 aircraft—with more of both on the way. The company is in the midst of expanding its aircraft fleet with 100 Piper Archer TX models and 100 Cessna 172 Skyhawk SP models to meet increased demand.

ATP is known for providing students with an efficient airline pilot pathway through quality airline-oriented flight training that can take a pilot candidate “from zero experience through an airline pilot job.” Graduates complete the ab initio Airline Career Pilot Program in nine months and are then guaranteed a flight instructor job to gain the flight experience required to fly as an airline pilot.

ATP flies over 30,000 hours each month, provides over 9,000 FAA pilot certificates and ratings each year, and has placed 659 graduates into airline positions in the past 12 months.

Endeavor Air Director of Talent Acquisition and Development Ginny Zarras said the air carrier was “excited to launch STEP at ATP and partner with them to engage, encourage, and educate the next generation of pilots.”
