AOPA concerned about Deer Valley master plan proposal

AOPA Western Regional Representative Stacy Howard and Phoenix Deer Valley Airport Support Network volunteer Art Rosen will be reiterating AOPA's concerns about the airport's master plan proposal next week during a public meeting. The proposal would eliminate half of the airport's T-hangars to build corporate hangars while leaving many general aviation aircraft displaced in the short term. In March, AOPA wrote the Phoenix aviation director, saying that new T-hangars should be built before the current ones are replaced by corporate hangars. AOPA also has pointed out that new hangars could triple or quadruple hangar lease rates. The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. on the second floor of the Westwind Training Academy on Monday, April 23.
