Description

Gateway Flying Club strives to be a club for the pilot who wants to use airplanes to travel and explore. Our aircraft mix provides a continuum of performance that allows the pilot to choose the best aircraft for their mission. Our aircraft are suitable learning platforms for pilot certificates and ratings from Private Pilot to CFII; and we make those aircraft available at affordable per-hour prices. We are a social organization that treats our members like owners and family; because they are!

Gateway Flying Club owns three airplanes and leases a fourth; each flown approximately 300 hours per year. Buy-in for equity membership is $2350 (but shares may be for sale for less on Craigslist), Dues are $117/month. A limited number of, one-airplane, Associate memberships are available to certificated pilots for a $400 initiation fee and $70/month. Aircraft usage is charged on a Dry-Tach basis. (pilot buys the fuel)

The clubs fleet consists of three Cessnas: 1976 C172M Skyhawk, 1976 C177B Cardinal, 1976 C182P Skylane and a Piper Lance PA-32RT-300. All aircraft are IFR equipped (VOR/ILS); the 177 and 182 also have Garmin 430W/530W GPS systems with traffic, the 182 has ADSB weather. The Lance has a KLN-94. All aircraft have 4/6-place intercoms, JPI engine monitors; the Cessna's have Angle of Attack instruments and 4-point harnesses for the pilot and co-pilot.

Student pilots are welcome; but must be an equity member to receive instruction in the club and fly the club's planes. An equity member's immediate family members are eligible for Associate Membership status, which include flight privileges, for $25/month.

Club meetings are open to prospective members and are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month starting at 7pm at the club hangar. We recommend that first-time visitors should call ahead to confirm the meeting time and location.
