MACINDUDE - 08/03/2016
I have been a member of Capitol City Flyers for over 12 years, and it has immeasurably improved my flying life. The aircraft are well-equipped and well-maintained, the club is on sound financial footing with reserves for engine overhauls and the like, and aside from following the FARs there are very few additional club rules. Things like grass strips and multi-day reservations for long trips are not only allowed, they're encouraged. Reasonable rates billed on tach time instead of hobbs and the philosophy of covering fixed expenses with monthly dues and variable with hourly rates ensure fair distribution of costs and the excellent financial management means no surprises. Fly-outs both to nearby destinations for $100 burgers as well as to farther-away destinations like the USAF museum in Dayton and FAA HQ in Oklahoma City for the altitude chamber class allow new pilots to share in excellent experiences with more seasoned flyers. Social events are the icing on the cake.
