Club Facilities

Why I'm interested in starting a club:
I have been flying for over 50 years and was awarded the FAA "Master Pilot Award" for safe flying for over 50 years. I have been an active volunteer giving back to the community for over 40 years and now I want to help give back to the aviation community. I am a current CFI/CFII and have completed the Cessna Factory training in the G-1000. I would like a platform to offer my experience to the local aviation membership. To generate aviation interest and stop the decreasing number of pilots, we need to go to our younger generation that requires an economical solution to flying.

Description of the hangar/clubhouse facilities:
The airport is just a few years old. It is total secure with code gated entrances. World Fuel is the supplier for fuel and has self service and FBO trucks for on site refueling. It has large square hangars and T-hangars for a total of 39.

Progress made towards starting the club:
I just saw this opportunity from AOPA, but I have called the airport Manager with some question about using their airport and how it might work out to start a flying club. They are going to get back with me as I reached them while on the road. I had owned an aircraft since the 1980's, but sold my C-337 when I moved from Virginia to Missouri in 2011. I started out with a Sundowner, but would be interest in including an LSA as there seems to be lot of interest in that qualification. I am also in an active search for an aircraft.
