Why I'm interested in starting a club:
Currently manage a flight school and want to start something new that will help promote people learning to fly for recreational purposes. I see many people interested in flying for pleasure but many are turned away from the longterm costs they will face to feed their flying appetites. A club seems like a great idea to promote a shared community of pilots working together to alleviate some of the burden on each other and make recreational flying a reality rather than a dream. I believe that my idea of a flying club would be unique in that it would promote fixed wing and helicopter flying and training.

Description of the hangar/clubhouse facilities:
I own and currently utilize 4 large hangars and over 12000 sq feet of office space.

Progress made towards starting the club:
At this point the resources needed are acquired. The facilities, aircraft, personnel, buildings, airport facilities, etc. What is needed at this point is the flying plan to be transformed from idea to laid out concept and plan.

Some aircraft, particularly the helicopters would be involved in some part 91 commercial operations by professional pilots and also a fully operational flight school that is already established and operating for the previous 7 years. The cost of these operations would remain seperate from the costs of the flying club and help alleviate flying club member dues and aircraft rates. By passing along the income gains from these operations the hope is to make not only fixed wing flying within reach to members but also make the amazing world of helicopters in reach to so many who can not due to its higher than fixed wing costs. Current operations are flexible and would allow the flexibility of a flying club concept to be included.
