Cirrus named AOPA Supporting Sponsor

AOPA welcomed Cirrus Aircraft as a Supporting Sponsor June 9. Cirrus Aircraft is the first general aviation aircraft manufacturer to participate in the AOPA Corporate Partnership program.

Through the sponsorship agreement, Cirrus Aircraft will continue to demonstrate its commitment to AOPA initiatives to strengthen and expand the general aviation community.

Known for its all-composite, glass-panel, parachute-equipped aircraft, Cirrus has already sponsored a number of events at AOPA’s Regional Fly-Ins. Under the new agreement, Cirrus will continue to host fly-in receptions and supply Cirrus aircraft for future aircraft displays.

“We’re proud to partner with Cirrus, one of the nation’s most innovative aircraft manufacturers,” said Jiri Marousek, AOPA senior vice president of marketing. “Cirrus is strongly committed to performance, safety, and advancing general aviation. Those principles fit perfectly with AOPA’s core mission to protect our freedom to fly and to continue to improve aviation safety.”

Since it was founded in 1984, Duluth, Minnesota-based Cirrus has offered some of the most advanced GA aircraft available. Cirrus recently announced plans to build a new Vision Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. The center will feature sales, delivery, training, maintenance, support, personalization, fixed-base operations, and more for all Cirrus airplanes, including the new Cirrus Vision SF50 Personal Jet.

“Cirrus Aircraft’s mission is to continue enhancing the aviation experience for aircraft owners, pilots and enthusiasts around the world,” said Ben Kowalski, Cirrus Aircraft vice president of marketing. “Partnering with AOPA is a natural step forward as we continue to innovate in general aviation, bringing new aircraft, services and experiences to aviators everywhere.”

With this new agreement, Cirrus Aircraft becomes AOPA’s latest Supporting Sponsor in AOPA’s Corporate Partnership Program, joining Sporty’s Pilot Shop and DTC Duat. The AOPA Corporate Partnership program includes two additional tiers of support: Strategic Partners include Aero-Space Reports, Aircraft Spruce & Specialty Co., Bank of America, Breitling, and Enterprise Holdings (Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental, Alamo Rent A Car); and Premier Partners include Jeppesen and PilotWorkshops.com.
