NetJets is set to take delivery of the first of 25 new $32.35 million Challenger 10-seat jets, and has options for 25 more. There are private sales as well, but Bombardier officials would not reveal the number of orders.
The first NetJets aircraft is on display in Las Vegas during the National Business Aviation Association convention. “Our collaboration with NetJets to create their Signature Series concept on our Challenger and Global platforms is evidence of what can be accomplished when two visionary industry leaders join forces,” said David Coleal, president of Bombardier Business Aircraft.
NetJets sent the Challenger 650 that is on display first to Florida to pick up a customer, who texted his pleasure with the aircraft during his flight to Las Vegas. The 650 is considered a “medium” size jet. The one in the convention center is the 1,000th Challenger 600-series aircraft to enter into service.
NetJets will receive seven of the aircraft this year, and said it is in mostly a jet replacement program, as opposed to growing the fleet. The 650 was certified by the FAA in the past week. Shares in the new NetJets aircraft are sold out.
