There are few women in aviation, and that may be due to lack of contacts and insider information about aviation opportunities. The Institute for Women Of Aviation Worldwide plans to provide such information and even job opportunities on a new website.
Getting more women into aviation, said institute founder Mireille Goyer, may be aviation’s only chance at exponential growth.
The site boasts a directory of about 8,000 aviation organizations including aerospace companies, service providers, and airlines that can be peer reviewed by viewers. It also includes “job opportunities posted by employers seeking significant female viewership,” the organization said.
The site includes a directory of more than 2,000 training providers and a list of scholarships with no membership or application fee requirement.
The hub also offers insider tips to save time and money in addition to career information “from a woman’s perspective,” the organization said.
Those who log on and evaluate directory listings from November 17 to December 7, 2015, have a chance to win an Apple iWatch Sport through a random drawing.
“This new initiative goes one-step further towards leveling the access path to aviation for women and steering them away from negative experiences and towards enduring success,” said Goyer.
