Aircraft resale trade group awards scholarships

Six university students majoring in aviation business- and management-related fields have been named recipients of 2016 scholarships from an aircraft sales and brokerage trade association.

The National Aircraft Resale Association, of Southlake, Texas, will award a total of $25,000 in scholarship funds donated by member companies for business aviation scholarships, the group said in a news release.

The 2016 scholarship winners are Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University students Wendylie Alix, Joshua Chancey, Thomas Emery, Christopher Daniels, and Samantha Lindholm; and Middle Tennessee State University graduate student Chasity Robinson.

“The NARA Business Aviation Scholarship program was established for university students seeking a career in business aviation,” and specifically those “within the corporate aircraft sales, marketing, finance, legal and insurance community. The scholarship winners are chosen from applicants that are full-time graduate and under-graduate students majoring in Corporate Aviation Management, Aerodynamics, Aircraft Systems, Aviation Safety, Finance, Business Marketing, Economics and/or studies that relate to Aviation Business and Management,” the group said.

“This year we exceeded our expectations with donated funds hitting the $25,000 mark for the NARA Scholarship program,” said Scholarship Committee Chairman Anthony Kioussis, president of Asset Insight Inc. “The aviation students that were selected are very deserving and NARA is committed to investing in future leaders of our aviation industry.”

NARA first offered the scholarships in 2014.

“On behalf of all the NARA members, we congratulate these outstanding students on their awards and we are very proud to help support them in their future aviation endeavors,” added NARA Chairman Johnny Foster, president of OGARAJETS.
