Paid Summer Internship: May to August   

About ASI

AOPA Air Safety Institute (ASI) is the largest non-government provider of aviation safety education worldwide. The ASI internship is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in support of its mission to improve general aviation safety through industry-leading research, education, and outreach.

About the Position

Duties may be aligned with intern’s academic or career goals and may include:

  • Assisting with
    • the development, review, and editing of new safety education materials, including online courses, video scripts, live safety seminars, and print publications
    • the revision of existing safety education materials, including in-person Flight Instructor Renewal Course (FIRC)
    • research for controlled studies, analytics, etc.
    • video production
  • Shadowing leadership at industry events/meetings (GAJSC, FAA, NTSB, etc.)

Qualifications:

  • Student pilot certificate
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher (scale of 4.0)
  • Familiar with MS Office
  • Eager to learn
  • Ability to research aviation topics
  • Interest in aviation safety and the general aviation industry
  • Courteous and professional
  • Ability to adapt to changing conditions
