FIRC Next Steps
Before you show up, please do the following:
The FAA recommends that you fill out your 8710 (8710-1 for Standard CFI Renewals, 8710-11 for CFI Sport Pilot Renewals) online, but if you choose not to, you can still complete a paper 8710 application at the FIRC during one of the breaks.
Remember, to maintain your current expiration date do not sign your electronic 8710 in IACRA until you are within your 4 month renewal window. If you sign the 8710 before the start of your renewal window you will be assigned an earlier expiration date. You can fill out the renewal information within IACRA at anytime without signing, and then return within your renewal window to sign it if you would like. Your started applications are saved under your IACRA applicant console.
Watch the video on how to submit your 8710 using IACRA or download the instructions. You can then use the "Submit your Application" link to submit your 8710 using IACRA.
If you have questions about Processing Renewal, please view our Common Renewal FAQs.
