A Celebration in Honor of Margaret Hurlburt
Enjoy an evening out at Rider's Inn in Painesville, Ohio as we celebrate the 70th anniversary of Margaret Hurlburt setting the women's speed record in a Corsair named "City of Painesville." Hurlburt was a graduate of Harvey High School and returned to teach in the Painesville School District before leaving to join the war efforts as a WASP in 1943. Upon the disbandment of the WASP in 1944, Hurlburt continued her dream of flying by participating in air races and air demonstrations, until her death on July 4, 1947.
