Join the AOPA Wings ‘n Wheels volunteer team and help make our event a success. We have lots of opportunities to choose from, including:
Hospitality
Greeters
Meet Wings 'n Wheels guests at points of entry, answer questions, direct guests to points of interest, and hand out drawing forms to each guest.
Trash Control
With an eye for detail, provide a safe and attractive environment for AOPA Wings 'n Wheels guests by immediately removing any discarded refuse. Gloves and trash bags will be provided.
Airside
Ground Attendant
The ground attendant will communicate with arriving and departing exhibit aircraft to provide clear directions to designated aircraft parking areas.
Visitor Parking
Visitor Parking
Parking volunteers will be assisting with auto parking. Duties include: greeting guests, traffic control, and traffic guidance; ensuring a safe and efficiently maximized parking area.
Classic/Custom Car Parking
This position manages the classic car display area. Duties include greeting car owners, directing them to their designated parking area, providing them with an AOPA Wings 'n Wheels exhibit card to display on their windsheild, assisting exhibit vehicles and owners as needed.
Classic/Custom Motorcycle Parking
This position manages the motorcycle display area. Duties include greeting motorcycle owners, directing them to their designated parking area, providing them with an AOPA Wings 'n Wheels exhibit card to display on their windshield, and assisting exhibit vehicles and owners as needed.
Set Up Team
The set up team will be responsible for setting up signage as well as tables and chairs. Please note this is a physical position and will require lifting tables, chairs, and boxes.
Tear Down Team
The tear down team will be responsible for assisting with cleaning up the event. This includes putting chairs, tables, and signage away and ensuring the area is returned to pre-Wings 'n Wheels condition. Please note this is a physical position and will require lifting tables, chairs, and boxes.
Snow Fence Installation Team
The snow fence installation team will install a part of the 3,600 ft of snow fence around the perimeter of the on-airport automobile parking area. This task involves handling rolls of plastic snow fence as well as using hammers to install metal posts to hold the snow fence.
