Nice airfield. The pilot facilities were unattended and there was a book to note your tail number and home station. Only allowed to park for 24 hours. The only thing lacking is fuel. Maybe the NPS will eventually install self serve pumps.

Had a blast flying into KFFA with my 11 year old son from KFRR. We landed on RWY 20 and taxied to parking. The pilot lounge is great, especially when its hot outside! Walked around the national park and took the tour. The only downside is no food to …

Winds at KFFA are very squirrely, windsock may not be installed, wildlife on or close to runway. AOPA pilot's lounge needs TLC.

What a wonderful spot! Nice shady rest area around the pilot's lounge (which is great!) with convenient rest rooms. The memorial of course is a must-see, and the half-hour presentation by the young ranger was a hoot. If you get hungry there is a subw…

Checked FFA off my bucket list yesterday. Winds were wicked, gusting to 19, and variable from 340-060 degrees. When approaching from the West, the runway is obscured by trees until you're over it. Departing was a challenge with the winds and the unma…

Dropped in a few hours yesterday -- extreme CAVU conditions, with gusty wind from the west perpendicular to Runway 20. Suggest a nice wide right downwind to buy time for lining up for final while the wind aloft pushes you through base. Definitely loo…
