With steamboats, breweries, and Cardinal baseball, St. Louis – known as the “Gateway to the West” – has something for everyone. Famous for its iconic landmark, the Gateway Arch, the city is located on two rivers, the Mississippi, and the Missouri, which offer plenty of recreational adventures like kayaking or canoeing. While in town, be sure to visit Forest Park, site of the 1904 World’s Fair, and home to the city zoo, art museum, and science center. St. Louis is also known for having the world’s best ragtime and blues musicians, so be sure to enjoy the active live music scene (and a plate of delicious St. Louis style BBQ!) before you go.
