Business Description

Civil Air Patrol Flying Association Inc (CAPFA), although no longer affiliated with Civil Air Patrol, is one of Connecticut's oldest flying clubs. Established in November of 1946, CAPFA has been operating out of Brainard Airport (HFD), in Hartford, continuously for 76 years. CAPFA has provided educational and recreational flying opportunities for generations of general aviation student and private pilots. As a not for profit flying club (501c7), CAPFA is dedicated to providing an affordable learning and recreational flying environment for its members. We currently operate and own two aircraft. CAPFA offers an online scheduling system, reasonable monthly fees and flying rates, liberal booking policies, as well as club CFI's (Certificated Flight Instructors). In addition to providing high-quality and well-maintained aircraft, CAPFA provides the social camaraderie only aviation enthusiasts can appreciate. Per our original charter, we are one of few clubs in Connecticut that admit student pilots. We also sponsor a club dinner, educational events and of course, lots of hangar talk. Come to a monthly meeting, the third Thursday of each month at 630 PM, usually (unless we're hosting our annual dinner meeting or annual cookout meeting) in the conference room of Hartford Jet Center, located on Lindbergh Drive at Brainard Airport.
