Aspen Evolution for Bell 206 and 407

Aspen Avionics, Inc. has earned supplemental-type-certificate (STC) approval to install its EFD1000H flight display system in Bell 206 and Bell 407 helicopters. The STC was developed in partnership with Keystone Helicopters. Perhaps better known as the Evolution Flight Display System, the EFD1000H replaces the traditional “six pack” of round gauges with a single flat screen display that fits into a standard three-inch instrument hole. The EFD1000H depicts attitude, altitude, airspeed, heading, and navigation information, complete with an electronic HSI having course deviation indicators and dual bearing pointers.

The EFD1000H is compatible with existing avionics, and expandable and upgradable to accommodate future avionics features and products.

Additional features include a built-in Air Data Attitude and Heading Reference System (ADAHRS), a backup battery, a backup GPS receiver, and a specially-designed vibration isolating kit tailored for helicopter installations. Aspen suggests a retail price of $14,995 for the EFD1000H.
