Frederick, MD – The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) today launched an “Opinion Leaders” blog, enlisting 10 leaders in different sectors of aviation to share their opinions, insights, analyses and forecasts of the industry.
The blog is designed to spark dialogue about the future of aviation, while building on the strong aviation community and the individual experiences of the various authors. As with most blogs, AOPA readers will be able to join the conversation by leaving comments.
“We’ve brought together very diverse leaders from different segments of aviation to one platform for AOPA members to engage with on issues at the heart of our community,” said AOPA Editor in Chief Tom Haines.
The blog will feature Jamie Beckett, a general aviation advocate and author; Jack Olcott, president of General Aero Co. and past president of the National Business Aviation Association and Dan Pimentel, a leader in aviation social media. Additional bloggers include Amy Laboda, an ATP-rated pilot and business owner; Jolie Lucas, California Pilots Association vice president; John L. Petersen, founder of The Arlington Institute and chairman of the Lindbergh Foundation; Rod Rakic, co-founder at OpenAirplane; Ron Rapp, Southern California-based charter pilot; Martin Rottler, lecturer at The Ohio State University Center for Aviation Studies and Max Trescott, glass cockpit expert and 2008 National CFI of the Year.
