Visual Approach: Winter wonderland

Cameron Lawson is a rock and ice climber, whitewater kayaker, backcountry skier, photographer, and pilot. He was born in Japan, raised in Alaska, and now lives in Bozeman, Montana. Lawson took this photo on the Central Alaska Range in Denali National Park on a very cold day (minus 30 degrees Fahrenheit). The ski-equipped turbine Otter is owned by Talkeetna Air Taxi. The peaks in the background are the Moose’s Tooth massiff, located in the Ruth Gorge. The peaks reach 10,335 feet high and are located 15 miles southeast of Mount McKinley.
