Aircraft Spruce prepares for customer appreciation day

Event raffle will benefit Young Eagles, COPA for Kids

AOPA strategic partner Aircraft Spruce is holding its annual Customer Appreciation Day event at its Corona, Calif., Peachtree City, Ga., and Brantford, Canada, warehouses on Oct. 5.

The event, held since 1997, is an opportunity for the company’s customers can talk directly to vendors, said Desiree Czaplinski, Aircraft Spruce’s marketing manager. “Social events are big in aviation, and this is a chance for customers to enjoy hot dogs and talk,” she said. Each location sees between 300 and 400 attendees every year, she added.

Attendees will also have a chance to learn something new with four education seminars on the following topics: portable radios and Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (AD-B) solutions by Garmin; Rotax five-year rubber replacement, by CPS; and an iPad seminar by Aircraft Spruce.

“We really try to pick education topics based on what is most popular and what is the most meaningful,” said Czaplinski. “Right now, there are lots of questions about the iPad, so we have a seminar to help customers figure out what they need in their cockpits.”

Aircraft Spruce also uses the events to give back to the aviation community by holding raffles at each location. The proceeds benefit the Young Eagles in Corona and Peachtree City, and COPA for Kids in Brantford. “Every year it gets bigger and folks enjoy it more, so we’ll keep doing it,” said Czaplinski.
