Scholarships available for New England pilots

Four scholarships for flight training, advanced ratings, or college tuition are offered for 2014 for pilots who live or study in New England.

Three scholarships are sponsored by the Eastern New England Chapter of The Ninety-Nines, International Organization of Women Pilots. The Georgia Pappas Honorary Scholarship will award $1,500, and is open to men and women. The William Bridge Scholarship and the Anne Wood Kelly Memorial Scholarship, each for $1,500, are open to women with at least a private pilot certificate.

The New England Section of The Ninety-Nines is offering one scholarship for $1,500. The Shirley Mahn Memorial Scholarship is open to men and women.

To apply for any of the scholarships, applicants must either reside or study in one of the six New England states. For questions and to obtain applications on all four scholarships, contact Linda Moody, 93A Groton St., Pepperell, Mass. 01463. Completed applications must be postmarked no later than Jan. 31, 2014.
