Remos spreads Christmas cheer

Engineers from German light sport aircraft maker Remos AG set out this month on a mission to spread a seasonal greeting over much of Germany, using modern technology to create their Christmas message in the sky with electronic “ink.”

The mission, designed and flown by Chief Technical Officer and test pilot Christian Majunke and Paul Foltz, required some unusual maneuvering.

“It was a lot of fun flying over a track like that on a map,” Majunke said in a press release. “We sure gave the flight controls a workout, but the radar track clearly shows the results of our efforts with ‘invisible’ skywriting.”

The pair guided their aircraft through the script at about 1,800 feet.

Remos has been hard at work incorporating advanced technology into its aircraft lineup, so it’s fitting that the company use technology to send a message. For those who missed the flight as it happened, the company also posted an animation of the flight track on YouTube.
