Gulfstream shows G500 interior

Upgrades connectivity for certain models

Gulfstream Aerospace unveiled a new interior for the Gulfstream G500 at the annual convention of the National Business Aviation Association in Orlando, Florida. The company also said Jet ConneX internet connectivity using satellites is available for the G650ER, G650, G550, and G450 at download speeds of 15 megabit s per second.

Gulfstream listened to customer input before designing the G500 interior.

It is available in new or refurbished aircraft. A company press statement said that is "34 times faster" than what some of its Gulfstream operators currently have, fast enough to make phone calls, stream video, and watch television.

It can fly 5,000 nautical miles at Mach 0.85 or 3,800 nm at Mach 0.90. It costs $44.65 million, but that price will increase by whatever escalation occurs between now and 2017 when first deliveries begin.

In other news, Gulfstream officials said they continue to support GIV and GV with investments in upgrades. The upgrades include the flight deck, cabin management, connectivity, and interiors and exteriors. The upgrades include future navigation needs, better avionics, and synthetic vision.

The Gulfstream G500 will be delivered in 2018.
