FAA issues Piper AD to clarify inspection provisions
The FAA has issued an airworthiness directive (AD) to clarify a 1995 AD requiring inspections of numerous Piper PA-28 and PA-32 airplanes equipped with oil cooler hose assemblies that do not meet certain technical standard order requirements.
The original AD 95-26-13 required inspections, replacement, and adjustment of the oil cooler hose assemblies on the listed models.
The estimated costs of compliance include $127.50 for required inspections and $515 for parts and labor associated with any needed oil cooler hose assembly replacement.
The cost of compliance reflects an $85 hourly labor rate, as opposed to the $60 per hour rate applied in 1995, the FAA said.
