Kansas State University Polytechnic has created a professional development program featuring four courses in aircraft certification.
The courses “offer comprehensive, relevant education” to individuals who need to get up to speed quickly on the nuances of airworthiness and production certification, said Kurt Barnhart, associate dean of research and engagement for Kansas State Polytechnic. Citing the retirement of veteran employees that is causing on-the-job training to taper off, he said the industry is experiencing “emerging holes between professionals new to aircraft certification and those who have been on the job for numerous years.”
The program begins in January 2018. After completion, students will receive a certificate from the university’s professional education and outreach office and can earn 180 professional development hours.
